Un Amour

This is the third video production so far. This time video footage is mainly from a Sony Handycam.

Mood Lighting

I have gone berserk! The studio now looks reminiscent of a club. There are four Abstract Futurescans mounted in a diamond shape on the ceiling. There is a PAR64 RGB Cannon. A length of Astralite trussing supports a strobe, a smoke machine, a Spacewriter iBall, a Martin Mini Flower and a CS250RGY Laser. Add some net curtains to pick up the laser and lights - off we go!

MIDI to DMX

The lighting setup's DMX chain is connected to a NJD MDC128 MIDI to DMX converter. The result is that the lights can be controlled by Emagic Logic Audio. A custom Logic Audio Environment allows control of all the lights The Abstract Futurescans can be made to focus on a given area, I can even use a tablet and pen to command the synchronised movement. Truly awesome!

Grand VJ

Grand VJ is a real-time video mixing PC software that is MIDI controllable. You can select video clips from your library, add video effects, all in real-time I also have a custom Emagic Logic Audio Environment to control Grand VJ. Finally the Grand VJ PC is hooked up to a Sanyo PLC XU-47 Projector.

Putting It All Together

After many hours of work designing the eMagic Environment to control the lights and weeks of programming up the lighting show. This video is the result.

Video Camera CCD Burns

Oh dear, the Sony Handycam now has several dark spots. Yep, managed to burn out some of the CCD arrays pixels with the laser.

Video Mixing

Adobe Premier Pro 2 was used to mix the video, which consists mainly of two to three layers.
