Contributing Factors

The cause of Autism is not understood, the possible reasons listed below may all be contributing factors which collectively trigger Autism.

Genetic

Genetic predisposition, susceptibility may be passed down. I read there is a 60% chance of diabetes in the parents or grandparents of ASD kids. My father has just been diagnosed diabetic. My mother suffered Multiple Sclerosis, Pernicious Anemia and Migrane Headaches. I cant help but feel there is a connection. Aron, my wife and myself are all blood group A. Most Autistics are blood group A!

MTHFR Gene Variants

Some doctors and scientists think that variations in the MTHFR gene (methylene- tetrahydrofolate reductase) may cause impaired Methylation, leading to oxidative stress and Autistic behaviour.

Phenol Sulfotransferase Deficiency (PST)

Others believe that the is a problem with an enzyme, which leads to problems breaking down Phenol food. There is a lack of suplhate in the body for the enzyme to perform the necessary suplhation processes. See Phenol Sulphotransferase and page 151 of this pdf Kirkman

Environmental

Environmental toxins, car fumes, cigarette smoke, pollution may help to trigger Autism. The environment is a much more poisonous place to an Autistic due to compromised immune system to rid body of these free radicals.

Vaccine

There is huge amount of evidence to support that MethylMecury ( Thirmisol ) used in DPT and MMR vaccines well compound with other causative reasons to trigger or worsen Autism.
